Meet the Team

Robert (Bob) Cole has spent his career helping students and families access and attain a higher education. He started his career as the Director of Education Programs at the Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) where he oversaw the Federal Student Loan and Maine State Grant programs. While at FAME, Bob was involved with a statewide college aspirations program which prompted his passion for helping families with their higher education journey. He then spent nearly 15 years with the national non-profit organization American Student Assistance (ASA), serving in a variety of roles including marketing, sales and community relations. At ASA, Bob was responsible for developing the first mobile college planning center serving Massachusetts communities statewide. He also created innovative financial literacy programs for organizations including the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the United Negro College Fund.

Since joining CollegeWell in 2018, Bob has been responsible for the seamless transition of Private College 529 Plan’s administrator and custody to Catalis and Charles Schwab.

Bob is a graduate of Bates College and a member of the College Savings Foundation, College Savings Plan Network, and the National Association of College and University Business Officers. He is a frequent contributor to Forbes.
