Can I only use my prepaid tuition at my college?
No. You can redeem your prepaid tuition at any member college. We have hundreds of colleges nationwide for every academic interest. Search our member colleges.
What happens if my child chooses a public college?
You can transfer the account to another child or eligible family member or roll over the funds to a traditional 529 savings account tax-free. These are just some of your options. Learn more about our refund policy.
What if I don’t qualify for the match?
You can still open an account and start saving. While a match won’t be available, you can lock in today’s tuition rates and take advantage of the same plan benefits.

In order to be eligible for Faculty and Staff Match (this “Promotion”), any participant must be: (i) a current employee of a member college of Private College 529 Plan (the “Plan”), (ii) a new account owner who has not previously owned a tuition certificate under the Plan, (iii) creating an account for a new beneficiary who was not previously named as a tuition certificate beneficiary under the Plan, and (iv) creating an account for a beneficiary who is 12 years of age or younger on the day their account is opened. A previous Plan beneficiary who is a current employee of a member college, as verified by the Plan, may be eligible for the incentive as a new account owner if all other eligibility criteria are satisfied. The Plan reserves the right to require proof of employment as a condition of receiving the match.
This Promotion offers a dollar-for-dollar match on the participant’s initial contribution, up to $500. If multiple accounts are opened for the same beneficiary or by the same account owner for different beneficiaries, only the first funded account will qualify. Participation is limited to the first 500 eligible participants as determined by the Plan. Once this limit is reached, no further Promotion participants will be accepted. The Promotion will end on September 30, 2026, or earlier at the discretion of the Plan.
This Promotion is governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising out of or relating to this Promotion shall be resolved in accordance with the dispute resolution provisions of the Plan’s Enrollment Agreement, including binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
The Plan is established and maintained by Tuition Plan Consortium, LLC (TPC) on behalf of its member colleges. Participation in the Plan does not guarantee admission to any college or university. Please read the Plan Disclosure Statement and Enrollment Agreement carefully before purchasing a Tuition Certificate.
